Juan M. Galvan

Partner

Juan represents cities, counties, water districts, and other public agencies as bond and disclosure counsel, and regularly advises clients on transaction structure, disclosure considerations, and applicable state law requirements. He brings a multidisciplinary approach to public finance, drawing on nearly 20 years of law practice and experience in commercial lending, real estate, bankruptcy, and accounting. This background helps him understand the broader context of each financing and provide clients with comprehensive legal advice.

Before co-founding Anzel Galvan, Juan was a partner at a leading public finance firm in San Francisco. Earlier in his career, he represented financial institutions in commercial lending, real estate, and bankruptcy matters, and prior to law school he was an auditor at a “Big 4” public accounting firm.

Juan is committed to advancing educational opportunity and equity in his community and currently serves on the board of the Berkeley Public Schools Fund. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and their rescue dog and is an avid vinyl record collector.
